CAFÉ SPACE

April 1, 2021

The Wycombe Arts Centre core team has been working tremendously hard during lockdown on the refurbishment of the Café Space.

The bar area was completely renovated and thanks to a grant from the Arts Council England, Dr. C. designed this ceiling installation to match the stunning geometric artwork created by Dan Wilson (Decreate) in shades of grey, turquoise and orange.

Previously, this section of the ceiling was covered with horizontal panels of organza (as shown on the right), for the room to feel more in proportion.

Upon removal of the organza panels during the building work, stunning architectural features of the room were revealed.

The see-through nature of this string installation is intending to showcase the roof space whilst keeping the cosiness feel of a lower ceiling for the Arts Centre's visitors. The network of intersecting layered lines comprising this string installation is designed to echo Dan's design (bar front panel) both in geometry and tones.
